The APV R Series Pump is ideal for the type of application where the metal rotored pump will not work effectively. When you need to strip clean your pump because the product will not wash out by using a normal CIP process such as meat processing, the R pump overcomes this problem by its simple robust design. The R pump design utilises a floating rotor without rotor nuts. APV R Series rotors are interchangeable and can only be fitted in one position due to a specially modified square shaft. This simple and robust design allows for all sanitary parts to be changed in minutes without removing the pump from the line. The pumps are now fitted with an 'O' ring front cover gasket, making the routine maintenance even easier. APV uses multi-lobe rubber rotors (twin lobe on the RO) as standard. These deliver very high efficiency for the handling of a wide range of difficult and abrasive products. As a strip clean unit the APV R Series pump has simple front loaded rubber lip seals for easy replacement. For special applications a range of metal or plastic rotors in several different profiles can be supplied, which are ideal for abrasive or corrosive products. APV R Series pumps can be fitted with enlarged rectangular inlets for metal and dough slurries. Additionally, if entrapped air is a problem, special de-gassing front covers can be used, enabling entrapped air to be removed prior to cooking or processing. If you have a problem with fitting a pump beneath your tank or hopper a front cover outlet can be supplied. For higher discharge applications a cover with outrigger bearings is available. APV R Series Pumps can be supplied with a variety of drive units, or complete with hoppers or auger feed units. -
APV Lab Series Homogenizers provide the desired mean particle size and narrow, uniform distribution you need to help you improve existing products develop new ones. Two units are available to meet your laboratory requirements; operating pressures of 14,500 psi (1000bar) and 29,000 psi (2000 bar) with nominal capacities of 6 g/h (22 l/h) and 3 g/h (11 l/h) respectively. The units are ideal for a wide variety of emulsions and dispersions. -
THE NEXT GENERATION IN MIXING AND HEATING TECHNOLOGY SPX FLOW offers an innovative new next generation technology called the APV™ Cavitator. The patented technology offers breakthrough benefits for the heating of liquids without scale buildup and/or the mixing of liquids with other liquids, gases or solids at the microscopic level to improve product quality and functional performance. The breakthrough results are obtained by using the forces of cavitation in a controlled manner rather than typical impellers or blades to process materials. With the APV™ Cavitator, the mass transfer rate can be increased and results are obtained that far exceed those of any technology in the market today. The controlled cavitation process is being considered a paradigm shift in the mixing industry where process intensification, process acceleration and the replacement of batch processing with continuous processing are necessary to compete in a global economy. The APV™ Cavitator can heat liquids in seconds, whether in batch or continuous systems. This heating can be done accurately and consistently by varying rpms through a temperature controller and variable frequency drive. There is no temperature gradient or hot or cold spots. The unit does not have a heat transfer surface at elevated temperature, so there is no scaling or fouling. The system is flameless and can be totally automated. The APV™ Cavitator has an elegantly simple and robust design that is proven through years of commercial operation in the chemical, petroleum, and food industries. The robust stainless steel construction, easy to use control system, small footprint, and quiet operation make the APV™ Cavitator an unparalleled heating and mixing system.
