Quality Is the Standard: Inside HAT’s Burr Ridge Fabrication Shop

July 23, 2026

Walk into the Holland Applied Technologies (HAT) fabrication shop in Burr Ridge, Illinois, and one thing is impossible to miss. Right in the center of the shop floor, in full view of every employee and every customer who walks through, hangs the Holland Quality sign.

It’s not there as decoration. It’s there because quality is the standard everything else gets measured against.

Hygienic Welding and High-Purity Fabrication Done Right

Holland Applied Technologies is an industry leader in hygienic welding, stainless steel polishing, and high-purity fabrication. That kind of work leaves no room for shortcuts. We invest significant time, resources, and expertise into every project to ensure it meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations across metallurgy, surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and documentation.

That standard doesn’t rest on one person or one department. Every HAT employee is trained on our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, so consistency and compliance carry through every stage of manufacturing, not just the final inspection.

Consistency and compliance carry through every stage of manufacturing — not just the final inspection.

Meet the Team Behind HAT’s Quality Standard

Our Quality Department is led by three professionals whose combined experience anchors everything we do, and whose work supports every industry and application HAT serves.

Name Role Experience
Rita Kiefert Quality Control Department Manager 29+ years at HAT
Jack Pisors NDT (VT) SNT-TC-1A Level III High-Purity Weld Inspector 8 years at HAT
Daniel Montoya Quality Inspector, pursuing Level II certification 15 years at HAT

Rita Kiefert, Quality Control Department Manager, has been with Holland Applied Technologies for more than 29 years. Over that time, she’s worked in nearly every department in the shop, giving her a rare, ground-level understanding of our manufacturing processes and what it actually takes to hold our quality standards.

Jack Pisors is an NDT (VT) SNT-TC-1A Level III High-Purity Weld Inspector who has been with HAT for eight years, bringing a level of inspection expertise that’s hard to find in the industry.

Daniel Montoya has been with Holland for 15 years and is currently working toward his Level II certification, adding even more depth to a department that’s already one of our strongest.

One of the Biggest Gears in the Machine

Like any successful manufacturing organization, Holland Applied Technologies runs like a system of interconnected gears, each one playing a specific role in reaching the same goal. Our Quality Department is one of the largest and most important gears in that system. Rita, Jack, and Daniel don’t just catch problems. They drive improvement, maintain compliance, and make sure every project that leaves our shop meets the rigorous standards our customers expect.

That’s what the sign in the middle of the shop is really about. Quality isn’t a department checkbox at HAT. It’s the thing the whole operation is built around.
