Aflex Bioflex Ultra is a smoothbore, highly flexible, PTFE lined hose. Its design overcomes the disadvantages of conventional smoothbore and convoluted PTFE flexible hose designs, dramatically improving on many of their individual technical performance parameters.

The key feature of Bioflex Ultra PTFE hose is the PTFE liner design, which comprises integral rib sections which support the tube against kinking, vacuum and pressure, and highly compressed web sections which gives a smoothbore inner surface and excellent flexibility.

Another feature of Bioflex Ultra is the integral PTFE lined and flared end fitting design which is available for all the standard end fittings on Bioflex Hose Assemblies. This Bioflex Ultra feature provides clean, full-bore flow through the end fitting without any entrapment points - unlike conventional fittings, which introduce a bore restriction, also a crevice at the end of the fitting tail. This PTFE lining also protects the end fitting from any corrosive media passing through the hose bore. Today, Bioflex Ultra has become the established standard in process fluids applications all over the world, and continues to be introduced into new applications every day.

Corroline+ hose was designed and developed to provide customers with a universal chemical hose product which combined all the requirements they had requested for chemical plant applications, particularly the need for improved flexibility and kink resistance. Corroline+ hose provides a superior alternative to the wide variety of alternative Chemical Hose products currently available.

    Construction

Corroline+ is built around a unique PTFE hose liner design, which has a slightly rippled smooth bore inside, but convoluted outside to generate excellent flexibility combined with “hoop strength”. Grade GP hose has a natural (clear) PTFE liner tube and Grade AS hose has an antistatic (Black) PTFE liner tube. A stainless helical wire is wound in to the external convolutions, which adds to the kink resistance, crush resistance and the resistance of the hose to both pressure and vacuum. This reinforced PTFE Liner construction is strong enough to withstand full vacuum and kinking without the need for either internal convolutions or the need to bond the liner to an outer cover, making it an ideal hose liner design, and a significant improvement upon standard products currently available.

The PTFE liner is then further reinforced with a 304 SS wire braid. A smooth finish black antistatic EPDM rubber cover is extruded over the braid, which includes two helical reinforcement wires encapsulated in the rubber cover which render the hose kinkproof. The rubber cover has a mirror smooth surface finish to aid cleaning, and the antistatic rubber is specially compounded to make the hose ‘fireproof’.

Corroflon is the industry-standard convoluted flexible PTFE hose for major chemical, pharmaceutical and food companies worldwide. The key to Corroflon’s success lies in its design and build quality, which guarantees a long, safe and reliable service life.

Corroflon will give better cleanability and drainability than any other convoluted PTFE hose on the market. This is because Corroflon is designed and manufactured in such a way that the angle of the convolutions is extremely shallow - 80° to 120°, compared with only 45° to 65° in other convoluted hose designs.

Corroflon is the only PTFE lined convoluted hose on the market to be fully kink and vacuum resistant at high pressures and temperatures. This is because Corroflon’s design incorporates a thick section external helical reinforcement wire which gives the radial support necessary to ensure maximum strength, whilst maintaining optimum flexibility and cleanability. The helix wire is welded directly to the end fittings at each end, ensuring security of attachment and electrical continuity.

Aflex is the only PTFE hose manufacturer to guarantee a minimum PTFE liner thickness of 1.5mm for hose sizes 1” and above, which ensures sufficient strength to prevent the tube from being internally pressurised from a sine wave shape into an extended square wave shape, which would lead to porosity, and eventually premature failure of the tube. This thick wall liner also minimizes permeation, and is extended through the end fittings to give an uninterrupted clean flow of fluid through the fitting.

The innovative CH Series sanitary pipe and tube hangers design was developed with the input of engineers, contractors, end users. These dynamic sanitary pipe hangers answer industry concerns, while incorporating several contractor time-saving benefits. The tension ring connection allows the clamp bodies to self adjust, independent of the hanging rod, to the tubes slope. This attribute reduces internal stress on the tube, as well as eliminating an entire step during slope adjustment. The combined use of the CH support and a telescopic stanchion permits line adjustment in the x, y and z axis’s. The ability to make these adjustments, while the sanitary tube hanger is secured to the tubing, eliminates the step of retesting the slope after the hangers have been mounted. What could prove to be biggest saver is these are packaged and installed as a one piece unit. No loose parts and wasted time gathering pieces and assembling components on ladders and space restricted areas. These benefits ultimately create a quality job.

Behringer's CH series tube and pipe sanitary hangers are 100% ASME/BPE 2014 compliant while conforming to specification SD-3.1.2.4. This means the CH series sanitary hangers have a rounded geometry and will adjust to accommodate operating conditions such as thermal expansion, thermal cycling, and other distortions while maintaining the required pitch alignment.

The SRV6 is a direct acting sanitary stainless steel pressure regulator designed to reduce pressure in clean and pure steam, liquid and gas systems. Available in 1", 1-1/2" and 2" sizes, the SRV6 is manufactured in 316/316L stainless steel, with all wetted parts mechanically polished to 20 microinches Ra, then electropolished. The angle pattern of the sanitary pressure regulator design ensures that the valve is self draining, while Tri-Clamp® compatible connections ease removal and ensure cleanliness. Diaphragm restraints and valve travel stop, which are standard features, prevents excessive diaphragm movement under vacuum conditions, which extends service life and reduces maintenance costs.

Downstream pressure is set by compressing the control spring. On start-up, flow passes through the main valve resulting in a downstream pressure buildup. As the downstream pressure begins to rise it acts on the underside of the diaphragm, opposing the spring force and causing the main valve to move closer to its seat. This movement throttles the flow, ensuring that the downstream pressure is accurately controlled at the desired set point.

Many sanitary fluid process systems in pharmaceutical and biotechnology plants are designed to reduce or eliminate “dead-legs,” pockets, and hold-up volume. Measuring pressure accurately and repeatedly in such systems has been a challenge until now. By specifying CPM fittings for all pressure measurement applications, customers are assured of maximum sterility, cleanability, and performance. The CPM instrument connection places the sensing diaphragm virtually “flush” with the process flow!

    HOW IT IS APPLIED

CPM fittings may be ordered in standard tubing sizes between 1/4” and 4” O.D. in sanitary clamp (Tri-Clamp®) configuration or in standard sizes between 1/4” and 4” O.D. in AWF (butt weld) styles. CPM fittings are as simple to specify and install as any standard sanitary “T”. To make installation of the gauge or transmitter foolproof, all that’s required is a standard 1 1/2” sanitary clamp. The internal o-ring is supplied with the instrument.
